Local Poetry Program for Teens: ImmortALL

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

Poetry writing and performance is an outlet used to express emotions- find refuge during hardships and relish in the bliss of achievements. It’s a wonderful occasion when a teen or young adult shows interest in poetry. It’s the community’s responsibility to create encouraging and educational programs that are readily available for new writers and performers.

For a third year, Virginia Beach History Museums have teamed up with Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Alumni and Friends Association, Teens With A Purpose, and Zeiders American Dream Theater to create ImmortALL.

ImmortALL is a program for Hampton Roads teens (ages 13-19) to build and enhance their poetry writing and performance skills. A series of workshops from October 2022-April 2023 will prepare students for the opportunity to showcase their work at Zeiders American Dream Theater on Saturday, April 29th, 2023. This program will have an emphasis on retelling Black history through our young poets’ family stories and current experiences. Free registration for ImmortALL is open now.
