Amanda Gorman “Pays It Forward” on MasterClass

MasterClass is a website with industry specific teaching from the most well-known and experienced professionals. They offer classes in categories such as Arts and Entertainment, Business, Writing, and much more. Who better to join the names of Alicia Keys, Spike Lee, Judy Blume, and Roxane Gay than Amanda Gorman.

Her class will be dedicated to writing and performing poetry. Gorman’s teaching will be based on the statement she made on her Instagram post announcing the news, “You don’t need formal training to write; all you need is curiosity and courage.” Gorman will “pay it forward” by encouraging students to focus on the reason they wish to hone their craft. Maybe a look at her brainstorming journals will inspire her students as well.
